Eshet Hayil Orchid

The last Perek of Mishle is recited in Jewish homes every Friday evening before Kiddush. The Chapter begins, "Eshet Hayil Mi Yimssa" - A woman of valor who can find? A very special chapter of Proverbs whose final twenty two verses begin with the letters Alef through Tav respectively; a quality lauded by Hachamim in the Talmud.

 

In this piece, the meticulous hand cut design forms an orchid shape which is adorned with the beautiful words of the Eshet Hayil prayer. Gold ink surrounds the shapes of the piece and highlight the initial alphabetical letters of each verse.
